RAINE DEARING, Interior Designer

Meet Raine Dearing, the latest addition to the Springhouse team! She joins our interior design department bringing five years of commercial design experience and is excited about applying her skills to residential design. Raine cares deeply about bringing her clients dreams to life through collaboration to create spaces that feel personal, creative, and impactful. Learn more about her below:

What is your professional background?

I graduated from Ohio State University in Interior Design and Psychology. I have five years of experience in commercial workplace design, mainly in the San Francisco Bay area working with large tech companies.

What inspired you to become an interior designer?

It’s something I’ve been interested in since a young age. Still, once I realized how much it could help people in their day to day lives, I knew it was something I wanted to pursue. I believe good design can significantly improve one’s life, and I wanted to be a part of that improvement.

What do you look forward to most about working at Springhouse?

I really look forward to collaborating with a small team of people and connecting with clients on a more personal level.

How do you want to make an impact on your firm?

I hope to help grow the interiors side of the business and help our clients design within the home as well as out.

Favorite tool of the trade?

I love Sketchup and think it helps bring a design to life. It’s such a great visual tool in communicating with the client.

What would your perfect day look like?

My perfect workday would be part meeting with clients and part getting to design. My perfect personal day would be spending time with my husband and son and visiting a beautiful new place.

Coffee or tea?

Coffee. A vanilla latte specifically.

What is one word you would use to describe your team? Explain why.

Hard-working. Everyone on this team works extremely hard to make the client happy, and it shows through their daily work ethics.

What is your favorite thing to do that isn’t work-related?

Hiking with family and friends and eating a giant delicious meal afterward.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

That I am a different kind of smart, I had trouble believing I was intelligent because math and science subjects were so difficult for me. It wasn’t until I was about 20 and complaining to my brother (who’s crazy intelligent in most fields) about grades that he said to me, “Raine, you’re just a different kind of smart. I could never be as creative as you.” That gave me real confidence in this field that I would later pursue.
