A couple of months ago, we shared the origin story of Springhouse Architects. Springhouse Architects began exactly as it was named—in an old stone springhouse located on founder Sheri’s rural Clear Creek Township property she purchased years ago. Springhouse has since evolved from one person in a refurbished home-based office to a six-person team of project managers, interior designers and support staff located in a new warehouse space in Springboro, Ohio. On average, we manage 12 to 15 residential projects in various stages across Dayton and southwest Ohio and have since expanded into commercial work, as well.

Meet Sheri Scott, AIA, NCARB, Founder & Principal Architect
Sheri Scott is an award winning residential architect as the Founder and Principal Architect at Springhouse Architects and Springhouse Structures.
She has completed unique projects nationally and has been featured in several high end lifestyle magazines as well as a two time Amazon Best Seller. As a University of Cincinnati graduate, Sheri is licensed by AIA & NCARB with over 25 years experience in residential architecture. Sheri has guided hundreds of clients through the complex project of custom home building that led them to a family home where they can settle in at night in a place of comfort.
Sheri has been appointed by the city as the architect on the Springboro Historic Downtown Architectural Review Board and serves as the architect on several HomeOwners Association boards. Sheri is proud to be the Co-founder of the Dayton Children’s ‘Flashes of Hope’, which provides professional portraits of children with cancer. As a highly sought after architect, Sheri has recently launched Springhouse Structures so that Springhouse can lead you through your entire project from dreaming to housewarming party. Sheri leads clients with the belief that when people feel at home, they become restored.
Meet Rick Inesta, Director of Construction
Having already owned and operated his own design/build residential company, Rick brings 30 years experience to Springhouse Architects and Springhouse Structures. After earning his Bachelors of Science in Architecture from The Ohio State University, he immersed himself in all aspects of residential design and construction.
Early in his career Rick learned the advantages of how 3D modeling could help clients visualize their finished product, and has been using this tool for over 25 years. Having also spent some time in the commercial construction sector, Rick understands the construction process and what it takes for a successful build.
Meet Kevin Bensman, Studio Manager & Lead Designer
Kevin joined Springhouse in 2016 and brought valuable experience in high-end residential and commercial projects from the Cincinnati area. Through Kevin’s strong attention to detail, he serves our clients by addressing challenges and designing unique spaces to fit the clients’ needs. Kevin is an active member of the greater Cincinnati Home Builders Association. He earned his Bachelor’s of Architecture Engineering Technology at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Applied Science. Kevin currently resides in Norwood with his spouse and three dogs, where he enjoys woodworking and DIY home improvement.
Meet Kayla Edwards, NCIDQ, Lead Interior Designer
Kayla is a certified interior designer who started her career with a focus on healthcare design. After graduating with two bachelor's degrees from Miami University, she chose to stay close to home and continued to be a part of the Cincinnati Dayton City Center of the International Interior Design Association. Kayla has had the opportunity to study abroad in France twice and to learn from her experiences in new cultures and the history of the country’s architecture and interior design. Through her upbringing in an Air Force family, she learned the values of hard-work, dedication, and respect. Kayla’s favorite part of residential design is collaborating with the clients and watching their vision come to life. When she’s not in the office, she’s spending time hanging out with her rescue (Roman), finding ways to keep up with her French communication skills, or doing anything outside.
Meet Logan Hendrick, Architectural Designer
Logan is an Architectural Designer from the Cincinnati area with 5 years of experience after graduating from University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art & Planning with a Bachelors of Science in Architecture. Logan has worked at commercial, interiors, and residential firms offering experience in a variety of subjects. A passion for the outdoors and nature carries through to his design workflow, focusing on blending architecture with the environment around it, encouraging connection between people and nature.
Meet Jenn Petrocelli, Office Administrator
Jenn brings to Springhouse over 20 years of Business Administration experience. While she enjoys the challenge of wearing multiple hats, her favorite is bookkeeping/finance. Earning a degree from the “School of Life”, she prides herself on needs-based learning and refuses to let “I don’t know how” stand in her way! This approach has built her confidence to take on any challenge to serve her team, so they can focus on the needs of the clients. The driving force behind everything she does is her love for God and others. On any given day, you can find her listening to the Bible, researching skoolie-living, or sitting around the kitchen table with the family, a game, and a good cup of coffee.
